One of Top 5 world’s most visited cities

Dubai is not just a city. Dubai is a brand, a legend, one of the most incredible megacities in the world.

About 150 world records set here. Here are some of them: the world's highest building Burj Khalifa, the world's largest laser show, the world's largest airport terminal, the largest aquarium, the longest automatically controlled metro network, and the list goes on.

For the fourth consecutive year, Dubai retains fourth in the ranking of the most visited cities in the world according to the Mastercard Global Destination Cities Index (GDCI) 2018, according to the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing . According to the study, last year, the tourist flow to Dubai amounted to 15.79 million people.

Dubai also won the right to host the prestigious World Expo in 2020. This largest international event will lead to the rapid development of the urban economy, tourism and hotel industry, and will also further strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a world center of great opportunities.

Dubai South – the rebranded Dubai World Central – is an emerging 145 sq. km city situated within the emirate of Dubai that will ultimately sustain a population of one million.

Launched as a Government of Dubai project in 2006, the city is mandated to embody the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum by manifesting the urban and societal themes as outlined in the Dubai Plan 2021. These themes relate to becoming a city of happy, creative and empowered people, an inclusive and cohesive society; the preferred place to live, work and invest, a smart and sustainable city, and a pivotal hub in the global economy.

Dubai South’s economic platform supports every conceivable kind of business and industry. The city is also home to the now-operational Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) –the largest airport in the world when complete – and the Expo 2020.
